Yamaha Reface CS Synthesizer

Yamaha Reface CS Synthesizer

The reface CS is a virtual analogue synthesiser featuring an analogue physical modelling engine with multiple synthesis and oscillator types. Each of the oscillator types has a flexible LFO and ADSR routing plus unique Texture and Mod.

The onboard effects processor has 5 effects including delay, VCM phaser, VCM chorus/flanger and distortion to add depth to your sound. The 8-note polyphony allows complex chords and pads to be played or simply switch to mono Mode for a fat synth sound. The integrated phrase looper lets you capture song ideas or just jam out to find something special. Finally, there is also a continuous pedal controller input for volume control.

Reface Mobile Mini Keyboards are re-imagined interfaces of classic Yamaha keyboards and are ideal for mobile musicians, music creators, keyboardists or sound designers.

All four unique synths in the series give intuitive control of a big sound in a small size. All units also feature built-in speakers and battery power so regardless of where inspiration strikes, you are ready… any place, any time.

-8-note polyphonic Virtual Analog synth
-Five unique oscillator types
-Powerful and intuitive control
Features
2W 3cm stereo speaker system
All reface models feature a speaker system designed to “play right now!” The speakers utilize bass-reflex port technology, producing an unbelievably good sound from a compact speaker.
Long-lasting battery
The battery system is perfect for those moments when you’re waiting backstage, feeling inspired by the music you hear in the living room or even sitting in the passenger seat on a long road trip. Six “AA” batteries allow up to five hours of continuous performance. The included power supply allows reface to be used without batteries.
Newly developed HQ-MINI keys
The HQ-MINI keyboard was developed to achieve the best possible playing feel. Its shape is the result of evaluating the acclaimed FS keyboard from our flagship synthesizers and the sturdy, highly durable pianica keyboard. Thanks to the crisp feel of the keys and the smooth playability throughout their entire range, this is a keyboard you'll love playing for a long time. All reface models come with a standard MIDI breakout I/O cable when you want to play reface from a full-size controller keyboard.
A Professional Connector Panel
The full sonic potential of the tone generator unfolds when connected to a PA system or a pair of high-quality, active speakers via built-in stereo 1/4" outputs. There's also a stereo 1/4" headphone jack and a foot controller input for sustain (reface CP/DX) or expression (reface CS/YC).
You can even monitor through the speakers or headphone jack via a 1/8" AUX IN.
Reface also features USB MIDI and traditional 5-pin DIN MIDI via an included adapter cable.
Controls
LFO The [DEPTH] and [SPEED] sliders control modulation speed and intensity. In addition to typical LFO uses, you can create interesting sound effects using extreme settings.
EG EG/FEG slider determines how much the Envelope affects Amplitude or Filter. The"zero" position (AEG) means the Envelope only affects Amplitude. As the slider is moved upwards, the more influence the Envelope has on the Filter. In the middle position the effect on Filter and Amplitude is the same.
The envelope (EG) is set by the ADSR principle (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) with four sliders. Again, the range of values is from 0 to 127.
FILTER Reface CS is equipped with a resonant low-pass Filter (18 db). The Cutoff slider adjusts the Filter from follow closed (0) to wide open (127) while the Resonance slider adds harmonics at the Cutoff point. The filter can even self-oscillate creating different kinds of synth sound.
EFFECT The onboard effects processor features five effect types to add depth to your sound. Use the Type slider to select the desired effect. Depth determines the effect's intensity (also known as "Wet/Dry"). The Phaser and Chorus/Flanger are powered by Virtual Circuitry Modeling (VCM) technology.
PORTAMENT The reface CS Portamento slider has two functions. It controls the typical Portamento effect: switching reface to 8-note polyphonic to 1-note monophonic and controlling Portamento time in monophonic mode.
